The following article explains how our loot system works.
We use ranks and /roll to distribute loot in a 10 man Progression environment.

**READ THIS CAREFULLY AND MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND IT**
Loot rules for <LUSTRUM>.
Ranks/roll groups:
1. Raider/Officer/GM
2. Raid Member
3. Member
4. Casual
5. Trial
General:
Rolling on an item shows interest in that item. That means if you want the item, roll for it. The item is then handed out to the person with the highest roll within the highest rank. This means to get a high chance on most items you need to achieve the rank of ‘Raider’.
The raider position is something you earn by attending raids and performing well. This means that your attendance and performance is directly attached to your chance of getting loot.
When loot is being handed out, the loot master will link the item.
E.g. ‘/rw MS [ITEM]’.
If you want the item for your main spec, you can roll now. If no one wants the item for main spec, then the item will be linked again but this time off spec will be called.
E.g. ‘/rw OFF [ITEM]’.
If no one wants the item this time, the item will be disenchanted and the materials go to the guild bank.
If you are unsure about the item and want to double check, say so on ventrillo.
You are expected to know if the item is good for you or not. We place responsibility on the players and will only interfere when we see that a player rolls on an item that is clearly not for that class.
E.g. Death Knights that rolls on spell power plate gear will be asked to delete their character.
Example 1:
A chest piece drops and 5 people are interested in it, they all roll and the results are:
*Dave (Raider) rolls 65
*Chris (Officer) rolls 34
*Sarah (Member) rolls 99
*Steven (Raid Member) rolls 87
*Linda (Trial) rolls 100
The first thing to happen will be a check on which roll group is the highest taking part. In this case it’s Raider/Officer/GM and that means that the other groups can't get the item (today). Now a check is done on who has the highest roll within that group. Dave had 65 and Chris had 34 and this means the chest goes to Dave.
Example 2:
A two handed sword drops and 4 people are interested in it, they all roll and the results are:
* Linda (Trial) rolls 32
*Fredrik (Casual) rolls 89
*Sarah (Member) rolls 92
*Steven (Raid Member) rolls 1
In this case, the highest roll group is Raid Member and there is only one person in that group. This means it doesn't matter what the rolls are, Steven will get the sassy two handed sword.
Exceptions:
Not all items are suitable for this loot system. We separate them from the system and use special rules for each item. All exceptions will be listed here and this list will be updated continuously over the course of new content. When we go into new content, there are unavoidably going to be items that should be subjected to an exception in that case, we will take note and add it here.
These exceptions mainly include Legendary items, Mounts and Raid dropped/chest crafting mats.
